Makers Guild Wales have been working with artist Thomasin Toohie on weekly painting and pottery workshops for our local communities in Butetown and surrounding areas of Cardiff. Exploring observational drawing, mark making, colour on paper and then transferring those skills onto their clay sculptures. A small exhibition of work made during the project will be on display at Craft in the Bay from 30th July to 30th August 2026.

Glasbury Arts 23rd Annual Art Exhibition
To tie in with the Celebration of Welsh Contemporary Painting, this year all artworks exhibited will feature some form of painting, whether that be on canvas, paper, ceramics, textiles or sculpture.
Around 20 contemporary artists are expected to take part including Veronica Gibson, Alan Salisbury, Amanda Turner and Sally Matthews. Ceramist Gracie Price will be returning as will Tracy Thursfield, Christine Williams, Jenni Hall, Sue Williams, Juliet Parker-Smith, Clarissa Price, Sarah Langton, Adrian Kay and the GSCE and A-Level art students from Gwernyfed High School. New names for 2026 include Helen Arthur and Chris Garrett.
